“Narrow Minded” from the “Jesus Christ Show”

I was this on the “Jesus Christ Show” website this morning.  This was posted by the ‘Holy Host’ on January 11, 2011. I just loved it and had to share it:

It is easy to get swept up with a large group of people bud God calls you to be different. When you are a part of a mass of people you tend to just move with the group without giving thought to which path is best for you.

Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”

Don’t assume the group is going where you want to go. You don’t want to get pushed in the crowd that leads down the wide, well-traveled road. It often looks more welcoming, more convenient. But take the time to use discernment so you can decide which way God is calling you to go.

The paths that are best for you are often the ones you travel on your own. There are so many distractions in your life that can keep you away from God. He calls you to the narrow road where you must be more focused on Him, where there isn’t room for both Him and distractions. The path is narrow so there’s only enough room for you and enough room for God. He calls you to the narrow road to draw you closer to Him and closer to the purpose He has for you.

I just love that. Keep in mind today and the rest of this week.

  1. Loved this well written article !! We all need to see this on our journey of life in whatever ways or words are offered. Whatever our faith or non-faith path we travel through.
